  • Introduction: Public Meeting hosted by Elections Staff to solicit public input regarding decisions that will determine locations of vote centers and ballot drop-off locations, as well as other items pertinent to the new Voter’s Choice Act (SB450) voting model in Amador County.

Voter’s Choice Act - Sign Up for the Voter Education Workshops

A workshop to educate Amador County voters on next year’s new voting processes under California’s Voter Choice Act take place on August 15th, however sign-ups must be received by August 1st.

Signups can be made with the Amador County Elections Office by phone at 209-223-6270, or by email at elections@amadorgov.org. If you miss this deadline, don’t panic, just give us a call or send an email and we will squeeze you in.

The workshop is an important part of the new elections process that begins in 2020. The new process will make it easier to vote, will reduce the costs of elections, and make the voting process even more secure than it has been. The workshop takes place in the Board of Supervisor Chambers at the Amador County Administration Center.

The workshop, scheduled from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on the 15th, will address Voter Education and Outreach. It will include a detailed explanation of The Voter’s Choice Act and the Elections Office will be soliciting input from the public to develop a comprehensive outreach program utilizing social media, newspapers, and radio to inform voters of the new process. This session should be valuable for any voter who wishes to understand the new election process, and it will also be useful to those who may wish to participate in the elections process itself.

Anyone interested in knowing more about the election process, or wishing to provide positive and proactive input on the upcoming changes should definitely attend this workshop.
