Land use applications can be submitted via the link above. Projects will be assigned to a Planner who will contact you to discuss anticipated processing times and any other information that may be needed for your scope of work. In-person submittals are still accepted from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday-Friday.
The Planning Department plans and oversees new development and and creates policy for land use while regulating, monitoring, and enforcing County Code Chapter 19, the County Zoning Ordinance. Planning also facilitates land divisions, permitting and monitoring of surface mines, and assists in floodplain development, Williamson Act Contracts and implementation of other land use projects throughout the unincorporated area of Amador County.
Planning Commission Meetings are held at 7:00 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month in the Board Chambers at County Administration Center: 810 Court Street, Jackson. Meeting items and agendas are uploaded online at least 72 hours in advance. When necessary, a second meeting may be scheduled on the fourth Tuesday of the month.
