District Attorney

Todd Riebe serves as the Amador County District Attorney. He was first elected by the citizens of Amador County to serve in 1998. Todd is an advocate for victims and families who have been negatively affected by crime. He is a leader in the state of California for smart criminal justice reform, particularly in how the state treats mentally ill offenders, the homeless and for programs that help keep young people out of the criminal justice system. Todd takes his role as DA very seriously and believes a caring, compassionate and accountable criminal justice system serves the citizens, victims and defendants in the most effective way.

Todd is the President of the California District Attorneys Association and the first DA in the history of Amador County to be selected to lead.

Prior to being elected District Attorney, he was the Chief Staff Attorney for the Jackson Office of John A. Barker & Associates, a firm that had the Public Defender contract for Amador County.

Todd received a B.A. in Political Science and an M.A. in American Politics from the University of Southern California. Mr. Riebe earned his J.D. from the McGeorge School of Law.

Prior to his legal career, Todd taught World and U.S. History and Geography at Horace Mann Junior High School in south-central Los Angeles. He also served as the athletic director, overseeing a complete sports and weekend activities program.

Todd is married and has four children.
