California Public Library Literacy Services Change Lives for the Better

Since 1994, our program has provided free one-on-one tutoring, workshops. and ongoing instructional support to English speaking adults in Amador County who seek to improve their basic reading, writing and digital literacy skills.

Learner and Tutor Services:

  • Free one-on-one tutoring
  • Tutor training & roundtable for tutors and learners
  • Instructional resources for tutors and learners
  • Life skills Computer Learning 

Learner Objectives:

  • Prepare to pass the GED test
  • Improve skills for employment, perform job tasks better, earn promotions
  • Learn computer basics, keyboarding & Internet resources
  • Enhance the quality of life at home, work & in the community
  • Develop the necessary skills to help children be successful in school
  • Prepare for citizenship exam
  • Increase self-esteem
