The Tri-County Technical Advisory Committee (Tri-TAC) was established under a joint powers agreement between the Counties of Alpine, Amador and El Dorado in October 1979. The purpose of the agreement was to provide coordinated planning efforts along the Highway 88 corridor, with specific emphasis regarding the ski resort development at Kirkwood. This was expanded in 1992 to include representatives of the El Dorado National Forest, Toiyabe National Forest, and the Kirkwood Meadows Public Utilities District as ex-officio members.
Tri-TAC usually meets on the second Friday of each month at 10:00 a.m. at the KMPUD Community Services Building on Loop Road in Kirkwood. The meetings are subject to the Brown Act and are open to the public. Information regarding the Amador County notification subscription: e-Notifications and meeting information is found on the County Calendar.
