The Amador County Environmental Health Department provides public education regarding vectors and their impacts on public health. A vector is any animal capable of transmitting the causative agent of human discomfort or injury, including, but not limited to mosquitoes, flies, ticks, mites, rats, skunks, bats, etc. Vectors do not include domesticated animals. The Environmental Health Department responds to nuisance complaints associated with these vectors, in an attempt to limit the spread of vector borne diseases to the public.
