Amador County Emergency Alerts

Sheriff Gary Redman and the Amador County Sheriff’s Office of Emergency Services is pleased to announce a partnership with CalOES, which brings the “Amador County Emergency Alerts” notification system to residents and businesses, and replaces the previous CodeRed system.

Amador County Emergency Alerts strengthens Amador County’s ability to communicate with residents when it matters most.  This service allows for critical communication with the public and provides individuals with the information needed to stay safe or take precautions during hazardous or emergency situations.

Amador County Emergency Alerts is a free service that allows individuals to receive notifications sent from state and local authorities to stay informed on potentially hazardous situations involving weather, wildland fires, urgent law enforcement operations, and other emergencies.

The switch to Amador County Emergency Alerts allows residents to receive alerts via phone, text, and email, and answer poll questions that will give Amador County officials critical information during emergency situations.  Individuals who are signed up for alerts will receive reliable information and updates which are tailored to their specific geographic location.

Amador County Emergency Alerts, which is powered by RAVE Mobile Safety, is a user-friendly notification system that increases reliability and accuracy, saves taxpayers dollars, and is easy to sign up for.  Several other law enforcement agencies throughout California, including the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office, are using this tried-and-true emergency notification system.

Citizens who were previously signed up for CodeRed are encouraged to sign up for Amador County Emergency Alerts to ensure you continue to receive these important, emergency notifications.  Residents and travelers to Amador County who were not previously signed up for CodeRed can sign up for free by downloading the Smart911 mobile app, by visiting Amador County Emergency Alerts website.

The Amador County Sheriff’s Office will begin using Amador County Emergency Alerts effective June 1st, but will also use CodeRed until December 31st, to allow citizens an opportunity to sign up for our new system.  If you have questions about Amador County Emergency Alerts, please email AmadorAlerts@amadorgov.org.
