The mission of the Amador County Probation Department is to ensure offender compliance with their Court orders through supervision, services and sanctions. The department is committed to increasing public safety by holding offenders accountable for their actions. The department will strive to satisfy the Court and community by working cooperatively and collaboratively with other agencies throughout Amador County and with counties having a mutual interest in cases.

The Probation Department is an integral part of the criminal justice system. It provides support for the Criminal, Juvenile and Family Courts. The Probation Department protects and serves the people of Amador County by providing services and programs designed to reduce the likelihood that a local offender will commit another crime.

Following are our guiding precepts both on and off duty: We will serve with humility, uphold the law with dignity, honesty and integrity and act without prejudice. We will respect the inalienable rights of others, respect the privacy of our clients and be objective in the performance of our duties. We will treat each other with cooperation, respect and fairness regardless of position or assignment. We will remain aware of our responsibilities to the community, the department and the individual. We will improve professional standards through continuously seeking knowledge, education and training.
