Elections Office - Workshop - Voting Accessibility Consultation Meeting

Voter’s Choice Act - Sign Up for Accessibility Workshops

Voter’s Choice Act - Sign Up for Accessibility & Language Workshops

Workshops two and three, of our 3 Part Voter Consultation Workshops, to educate Amador County voters on next year’s new voting processes under California’s Voter Choice Act will take place on September 19th, however sign-ups must be received by September 12th. These workshops will allow Amador County Elections to obtain valuable feedback and guidance while we draft our Election Administration Plan, which outlines how the County will be implementing the California Voter’s Choice Act in March 2020.

These workshops are an important part of the new elections process that begins in 2020. The new process will make it easier to vote, will reduce the costs of elections, and make the voting process even more secure than it has been. The workshops will take place in the Board of Supervisor Chambers at the Amador County Administration Center.

The first workshop, scheduled from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on September 19th, will address Voting Accessibility, providing detailed information on how our office will work to increase accessibility and participation of eligible voters with disabilities under the new laws. This meeting is good to attend if you are representatives from the Disability Community, Community Organizations, individuals that advocate on behalf of, or provide services to, individuals with disabilities, or a voter interested in voting accessibility.

The second workshop, scheduled from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on September 19th, will address Language Accessibility, with emphasis on how the new voting process can be utilized effectively by voters for whom English is a second language. This meeting is good to attend if you are representatives, advocates, and other stakeholders of the County's Language Communities, or a voter interested in language accessibility in voting.

Signups can be made with the Amador County Elections Office by phone at 209-223-6270, or by email at elections@amadorgov.org. If you miss this deadline, don’t panic, just give us a call or send an email and we will try to squeeze you in.
