Burning an outdoor fire larger than 4 feet by 4 feet requires that you have a large pile burn permit from the Air District.
There is an annual fee of $30 for the large pile burn permit or $50. for a two year permit.
Material may not be moved from one property to another for the purpose of burning it.
The use of Burn Barrels is prohibited. Call the District office if you have one that you would like to dispose of.
In an effort to make obtaining a large pile burn permit easier for you we have three ways that you can do this.

Click the link below and Print out the form. You may be able to fill it out on your computer. Complete the form and mail it along with a check or money order (payable to: Amador Air District) for the fee to the Air District. Call the District with any questions you have. 209/257-0112. Once your application is received, it is processed and a valid permit is mailed back to you. OR |

Call the District and have any questions answered and have the form mailed to you. You will complete and mail the form to the District along with a check for the fee (checks made out to: Amador Air District). Once your application is received, it is processed and a valid permit is mailed back to you. |

Come into the Air District office at 810 Court Street in Jackson, complete the form and pay the fee with either check, cash or money order only. You leave with the permit. Payments made out to: Amador Air District |
Please remember, do not mail cash.
The District can accept cash, money orders, checks or credit cards (credit cards only in office).
